Lavin describes her formative years performing in summer stock, her experiences in several Broadway shows including It's a bird, it's a plane, it's Superman, and the 1989 revival of Gypsy, her television work in the situation comedy Alice, and her impressions of colleagues such as Harold Prince, Jack Cassidy, and others.
