  • Translation into French of Historia Scholasticaof Peter Comestor -- glossed Bible: Pt. I contains Genesis - Job; Pt. II contains Psalms - Apocalypse. ; Part II begins with Psalms, extends through the Apocalypse.
  • Foliation confusing: often first digit missing, i.e. vol. 2 begins with f. 56 (actually 256) and vol. 3 with 22 (actually 122). Two parts are foliated separately.

  • Decoration: Part 1, Miniatures showing biblical scenes; figures appear against diapered or gold backgrounds. Large blue and red initials on gold. 2-line and 1-line gold initials on red and blue fields. Rubrics. Book name in red and blue. On pages with miniatures, border design with vines, leaves, flowers. Historiated initial. Part 2, Large and small miniatures; figures tend to appear against landscapes or interior scenes. Full border designs around miniatures. Coats of arms in borders. 5-line red and blue initials on gold. 1- and 2-line gold initials on red and blue.
  • Collation: In part 1, I-XXXI (8 folios each); XXXII (6 folios). In part 2, volume 2: XXXII (2 folios); XXXIII-XLV (8 folios each); XLVI (6 folios). Quaternions are the norm; see notes in dossier.
