Note
  • Made for Ambrose Dudley, Earl of Warwick, between 1563, when he became Knight of the Garter, and his death in 1590. Some 17th century coats of arms, on paper, cut out and pasted to leaves at the end.
  • Layout: Most pages have three rows of coats of arms, with labels.
  • Decoration: Birds and animals appear on coats of arms. Drawings of coats of arms and other devices in various colors.
  • Script: Cursive.
  • ff. 25v-29v have 17th century coats of arms, on paper, cut out and pasted onto vellum. Notes in ms. and catalog suggest this book was to be used by a maker or teacher of heraldry.
