  • Copy of the Dutch language book of hours compiled in the late fourteenth century by Geert Grote.
  • Manuscript is foliated 1-188; according to James Marrow (The Splendor of the Word), foliation should be i + 187.
  • Layout: Written in 20 long lines per page, ruled in brown ink. Occasional prickings visible.
  • Decoration: Six full-page miniatures on the versos of inserted singletons; human figures in borders around miniatures. 1-line and 2-line red and blue initials. 3-line red and blue initials with elaborate purple and red penwork, with green accents. Pen flourishing in the style of the so-called Mask Group.
  • Script: Gothic textura.
  • Artist: Antonis Rogiersz. uten Broec.
  • The ms produced ca. 1450-65 in the northern Netherlands, with the miniatures added slightly later by Antonis Rogiersz. uten Broec formerly known as the Master of the Boston City of God; he had worked in Brabant, as well as in the Utrecht area.
