- Founded in 1932 by Vivian Johnson Cook and Vashti Turley Murphy, the Philomathians are an educational and service organization of Black women based in Baltimore, Maryland. The Philomathians ephemera collection consists of activities calendars, programs for closing ceremonies and annual dinners, and a Baltimore city council resolution honoring the group's fiftieth anniversary.
