Summary
The Ernest A. Meriney scrapbooks, dated 1885 to 1907, were created by Edward A. Meriney (1873-1938), a salesman and theatre enthusiast, who wanted to retain a record of the productions that were performed in New Orleans' theatres. As a major cultural center, New Orleans attracted a wide array of talent from around the country and abroad. The scrapbooks hold clippings, a photograph, playbills, postcards, telegrams, ticket stubs, and theatre seating plans.
