Summary

The third edition of this well-known book represents an entirely new format, one which groups all the information on each ship into a single entry, including operational history, ship specifications, list of commanding officers, and photographs. Headings on each page identify the class of ship represented and the period under discussion for easy reference. -- In addition to the three divisions of the previous edition, Ships of Canada's Naval Forces, 1910-1993, in this new version includes RCN ships in service from 1990 to 2002, including the state of the art City Class Patrol Frigates, the Maritime Coastal Defence Vessels, the newly-acquired Victoria Class Submarines, and the Torpedo Sound Range Vessels, with updates on those ships service in Operation Apollo, the US-led war against terrorism, in the Arabian Sea.
