Summary
Posters manufactured between 1930 and 1990 (primarily during the 1980's). Collection commemorates the achievement of African American educators, scientists, civil rights workers, politicians, abolitionists, church workers, entertainers, Nobel Prize winners and others, occasionally providing some biographical and/or historical information on the subject. Collection about evenly split between posters commemorating individuals and those commemorating groups of people. Posters are sponsored by private concerns, government agencies and corporations.
