Biography
Playwright and writer. Henry Gilfond, author of numerous plays for young children, was born in Ekaterinburg, Russia, in 1907. He immigrated to England with his parents at the age of three and then to the United States, in 1917, during the World War I. Gilfond received his B.A. from the City University of New York. He taught in Junior High Schools, in New York City; he also gave writing workshops at South Hampton College, Long Island University, NY.
