- Colophon of v. 1: Here ends the first part of the history of the valorous and wittie knight-errant, Don Quixote of the Mancha, by Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra, translated out of the Spanish tongue into the English by Thomas Shelton and first printed in the yeare one thousand, six hundred & twelve by William Stansby. Now newly imprinted by St. John Hornby ... at his private press called the Ashendene Press, Shelley House, Chelsea, in the county of London. The work was begun in november of the year of our Lord nineteen hundred and twenty five and ended in May of the year nineteen hundred and twenty seven. The initials and borders were designed by Louise Powell and cut on wood by W.M. Quick and Geo. H. Ford ... Two hundred and twenty five copies have been printed upon paper and twenty copies upon vellum. Lau Deo.
