Summary
Former New York City Ballet dancer Sheryl Ware Ballard recalls joining the New York City Ballet, and George Balanchine's sympathy for her difficult personal circumstances at that time. She discusses her favorite roles as a dancer; Balanchine's teaching; leaving the company and returning to teach at the School of American Ballet. She describes working with Jerome Robbins; her love for Balanchine's ballet La Source; and the current direction of the company.
